The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Written Examination (CWE) on behalf of 21 nationalized banks as a pre-requisite for selection of Probationary Officers.
An IBPS Recruitment is done in three stages. The first phase is Common written examination, followed by Interview and the final placement.

| IBPS CWE PO Eligibility
1. A candidate should be between 20 – 30 years (both inclusive).
2. A candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
| IBPS CWE PO Application Process
1. Candidates are supposed to register and get the provisional registration number & password generated.
2. Payment can be done using: Online mode- through Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking.
Offline mode- Payment of fees through CBS branches of the banks mentioned on the website.
3. Fill in the details and upload photograph and signatures.

Question Types: IBPS PO CWE is an Objective type online paper. A total of 200 questions are asked.
Marking Scheme:1 mark for each correct question is given. Negative marking is there. ¼ mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
Duration: Composite time of 2 hours is allotted for the paper.

Reasoning- Logical Reasoning contains Verbal & Non Verbal Category questions. Verbal reasoning means blood relation, Sitting arrangement, coding decoding, making series and Syllogism. Non-verbal covers making series, analogy and classification.
English Language- Vocabulary, synonyms, Antonyms, Word formation and Sentence completion. Comprehension includes Theme detection, Deriving conclusions, Passage completion, Error detection and Passage correction, Sentence correction, Grammar, Idioms and Phrases.
Quantitative Aptitude- Number system, Simplifications, Partnerships, Percentage, Ratio and proportions, Simple interest and compound interest, Average, Mensuration. Permutation and combination, Data tables, Probability, Mixed graphs, Case study.
General Awareness- Current Affairs from Indian Economy, International Economy, UNO, Marketing, Awards & Honors Sports, Finance, Agriculture etc. History of Banking, countries / currencies, Books & Their Authors, Banking Terms, RBI, Fiscal Monetary Policies etc.
Computer Knowledge- Basic computer terminology, Software & Hardware questions, Computer abbreviation, Microsoft-office, Basic knowledge of Internet use.
